Do I have to apply online?
Yes. All of our recruitment activities are carried out online.
When will I hear back about my application?
We’ll send you an automated email to let you know we’ve received your application.
We’ll review your application as soon as we can and get back to you via email to let you know the outcome.
There are no current vacancies I am interested in. Can I register my details?
Yes. If you complete the application on our careers site you can select ‘Speculative’.
It’s quick and easy to keep an eye out for new vacancies, as our website is updated every Wednesday.
Alternatively, you can send a CV and covering letter. We will keep your details for up to three months at a time.
If I’m unsuccessful, will you keep my application for future vacancies?
We receive so many applications for each role that if you are unsuccessful we ask that you apply again if another job becomes available.
If you’ve completed the application form within the previous three months, we will already have your details so you can let us know which role you would like to resubmit for.
Do you have any part-time positions?
Yes. We recruit for full (39 hours) and part-time vacancies and will make it clear how many hours are available for each role we advertise.
Do I have to wear a uniform?
All colleagues in our food, funeral and specialist businesses wear uniforms which we provide.
If you have any special requirements, such as religious apparel, we can provide uniform which is specific to your requirements.
Our Business Support Centre colleagues must meet set standards of business appearance.
Will I get any training?
Your initial induction and training, where you learn about our business and the way we work, will last around 13 weeks, with reviews at 6 and 13 weeks.
After that, all of our colleagues, whatever their role, receive on-going training and development opportunities to ensure they achieve their full potential.
What happens to my details after I’ve applied?
All application details that you supply to us, including any notes taken at interview stage, are stored in a secure database.
If your application is successful and you begin working with us, we will transfer this information into your electronic personal file.
