Coop Mobile shortlisted in three categories at the 2026 MVNO Nation Awards

01 October 2026

The Channel Islands' first MVNO is in the running for Best New MVNO, Best Marketing Campaign and the MVNO Challenger Award

Coop Mobile has been shortlisted in three categories at the 2026 MVNO Nation Awards, one of the leading international awards programmes for the mobile virtual network operator industry.

The service is up for Best New MVNO, Best Marketing Campaign and the MVNO Challenger Award. Winners will be announced on 4 November 2026 at a ceremony in Alicante, Spain, during MVNO Nation Europe.

This year, for the first time, winners in every category will be chosen by an expanded international jury of analysts, consultants, operators and industry experts, with no public vote.

The shortlisting comes soon after Coop Mobile won the Sustainability Champion Award at the MVNOs World Awards in Amsterdam, and less than eight months after the service launched in Jersey and Guernsey in February 2026.

Coop Mobile was set up to challenge the Channel Islands mobile market. It offers four SIM-only plans that customers can change month to month, with no long contracts, and roaming boosters so people only pay for roaming when they travel. It also offers a range of refurbished handsets. Customers who link their Coop Mobile account to their Coop membership get a 10% shopping voucher every month.

David McGrath, Chief Membership and Marketing Officer for the Channel Islands Coop, said: "Being shortlisted for three awards, alongside some of the most innovative mobile brands in Europe, is a real achievement for a service that's only been live since February. Islanders told us they wanted mobile that was simpler, fairer and better value, and that's what we set out to build. To be recognised for the service itself, for how we've taken it to market and as a challenger brand shows the Coop model is working. Thank you to our members, our customers and the team who have made it happen."
