Donate essential items to help premature babies at your Coop
A successful partnership between CI Coop and the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation (PPBF) is going to continue, following an overwhelmingly positive response from the Guernsey community. That means when you pop into one of our participating stores, you can grab a few essentials and pop them in the donation box, helping families in need.
More than 100 essential items were donated to PPBF collection points in the first month of the initiative, prompting the scheme to remain in place beyond its initial launch period.
You can make donations at any of the following stores: Vazon, St Martin, and Nocq Road.
Supporting families when they need it most
Generous donations included everyday baby essentials such as nappies and wipes, alongside toiletries for emergency travel packs. These packs are vital for parents who are urgently flown to the UK to be with their unwell baby or child.
The donated items are used in Baby Boxes gifted to the Special Care Unit in Guernsey, as well as in newly introduced Care Packages sent directly to parents whose children are receiving care at UK hospitals. These packages offer both practical support and much-needed comfort during extremely challenging times.

Making it easy to give back
To help shoppers support the initiative as part of their regular shop, we've introduced clear in‑store signage. Stickers highlight the essential items most needed by the PPBF, and printed shopping lists are available to guide customers, making it easy to pick up an extra item and place it in the dedicated collection bins.
A partnership rooted in community
Sara Edmonds, Head of Fundraising at the PPBF, said:
“It’s exciting to see this partnership grow beyond World Prematurity Month, when we first brought the idea to life. The Co‑op's values align closely with ours, with a strong community focus, and this is evident in their willingness to keep working with us. The collection scheme makes it easy for people to support our projects by picking up an item during their weekly shop, while also raising awareness of our cause. A big thank you to the Co‑op team for their ongoing commitment to local families.”
Mark Cox, CEO of Channel Islands Co‑op, added:
“We’re delighted to see this important initiative continue beyond World Prematurity Month. Supporting the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation is something we truly value, as community sits at the heart of everything we do at the Co‑op. This effort brings islanders together to support families navigating the challenges of premature birth, and by simply adding a few extra items to their shop, our members and customers can make a real and meaningful difference. We’re proud to help raise awareness and continue contributing to the PPBF’s vital work.”
