As a Channel Islands Co-operative member, I am standing for election to the Board of Directors because I believe deeply in the Co operative values of fairness, community benefit, and long term stewardship to develop and protect member value. As a lifelong supporter of member owned organisations, I am committed to helping the Society continue to thrive, adapt, and deliver meaningful value for its members across the Channel Islands.
I bring a strong professional background in accounting, finance, and governance, with experience that I believe will strengthen the Board’s ability to oversee the Society’s strategic direction and financial sustainability. My career has equipped me with:
• Robust financial expertise, including budgeting, risk management, audit processes, and long term financial planning
• Professional accounting qualifications and hands on experience interpreting complex financial information to support sound decision making
• Board level leadership, having served as a Director in other organisations where I contributed to governance, oversight, and strategic development
• A collaborative approach, working constructively with fellow board members, executives, and stakeholders to achieve shared goals
I understand the responsibility that comes with serving on the Board of a member owned organisation. The Society plays a vital role in our islands, not only as a retailer, but as an employer, a supporter of local initiatives, and a champion of ethical business. If elected, I will work to ensure that the Society remains financially resilient, forward looking, and firmly rooted in Co-operative principles.
My priorities include:
• Strengthening the Society’s long term financial position
• Supporting sustainable growth and innovation
• Ensuring transparency and accountability in governance
• Championing initiatives that benefit members, colleagues, and our wider community
