Blood Pressure Monitoring
Our Blood pressure monitoring service is available all year round from all our Coop Pharmacies at a cost of £7.50 initially. For any follow up appointments, the cost is £5.00.
High blood pressure (also called hypertension) is a leading cause of heart disease and stroke. It often has no symptoms, so regular checks are important to help prevent serious health problems.
There's no need to make an appointment for the Blood Pressure monitoring service, just pop in to see our expert pharmacy teams at any of our Coop Pharmacy stores. The service is available between 9am to 4pm, Monday to Saturday.
What happens at the test?
1. Step One – One of our trained pharmacy colleague will help you fill out a form which covers your health, family history and lifestyle.
2. Step Two – A blood pressure cuff will be placed over the upper arm to measure your blood pressure. You may feel a slight discomfort as the cuff is inflated.
3. Step Three – The results will be recorded, and we may take another measurement if needed.
4. Step Four – The pharmacist will discuss the test results with you and suggest next steps.
The whole process takes between 5 and 10 minutes in a private pharmacy consultation room by our trained pharmacy colleague.
