Channel Islands Coop Announces a £3 Million Dividend for Members at Annual Members Meeting

22 May 2024

Over 120,000 CI Coop members can look forward to a share of a £3 million dividend payment this year following the successful conclusion of its 2024 Annual Members Meeting (AMM).

Held on 21 and 22 May 2024, members were actively engaged in shaping the Coop's operations and were provided with insights into the Coop's annual results.

The Coop noted a net loss of £1.8 million in 2023, citing global events and economic stresses, but despite these challenges, CI Coop CEO Mark Cox said this announcement demonstrated the CI Coop’s commitment to its member-centric values. “I am delighted that we have been able to ensure we can make a payment to our member owners. CI Coop has always put its members and the community at the core of the business, so I'm thrilled with this outcome. I would like to record my thanks to all our member owners and colleagues for their understanding, loyalty, and continued commitment to our CI Coop”.

Members are invited to collect their dividends at the member services desks from Thursday 23 May.

As well as the dividend vote, director elections took place in both islands, with Matt Chatterley elected in Jersey, Ben Le Huray elected in Guernsey and Jon Bon re-elected in Guernsey.
CI Coop CEO Mark Cox said: “I am pleased to welcome Jon Bond back to the board and introduce Ben Le Huray from Guernsey and Matt Chatterley from Jersey. The blend of new faces and the wealth of experience already on our board provides us with a very strong and capable team for the future”

With a dedicated workforce of 1,169 islanders spread across Jersey and Guernsey, the Coop's dedication to charitable and local initiatives has also remained, with £148,000 donated to local charitable causes and community groups, and £8.3 million spent with local suppliers, which provides economic benefit to both our islands.
