Job Role

The Channel Islands Co-operative Society is growing and we want to enhance our internal support office teams.

We’re searching for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our risk and compliance department and to help us make a real difference to the communities we serve.

Based at our head office in Jersey, this role forms a key part of the compliance team and the overarching compliance function.

You will be overseeing the stress testing of the compliance framework relating to financial services across the Society and form an integral part of our risk management approach.

Working alongside the head of compliance, as well as other Society stakeholders, you will be helping provide compliance assurance to the Society.

Job Purpose /

Summary

The compliance monitoring program officer ('CMO') will assist with the design, development and implementation of the compliance monitoring program and will form part of the Society's risk and compliance department.

Principally, the CMO will be responsible for the day-to-running of the program which will include (but not limited to):

  1. Summary Monitoring Schedule and Annual Plan

  2. Drafting Methodology

  3. Drafting Assessments (to be conducted)

  4. Conducting Monitoring Assessments

  5. Observational Analysis

  6. Drafting Reports

  7. Preparation of Statistical Management Information Reporting

 They will also be active in ensuring the effective management of the compliance monitoring program.

Experience / Key Skills      

  1. Professionally qualified and experienced (minimum of 5 years) in a risk and compliance roles within the legal and regulatory industry in the Channel Islands

  2. Has a good knowledge of ERM and Compliance Frameworks

  3. A self-starter who is project orientated with the ability to meet set deadlines with quality deliverables

  4. Strong IT and analytical skills with the ability to efficiently analyse and report upon data trends

  5. Holds a broad technical knowledge and experience covering conduct of business matters, corporate governance matters and regulatory risk and regulatory change matters

  6. Practical and commercial approach to problem solving, retail experience desirable but not essential

  7. Solution driven, consults, collaborates and communicates effectively

    Please note: This role requires the individual to have five years residency in Jersey Channel Islands, holding an Entitled to Work Registration Card
