Emelita Robbins

Emelita was elected to the Board in May 2026. A member of the Coop and a regular customer of our local stores, Emelita brings extensive experience of leadership, governance, law, risk and financial stewardship across the commercial, public and charitable sectors.
Many islanders know Emelita from her seven years at Jersey Hospice Care. During her tenure as Chief Executive, she modernised the organisation and its governance, expanded access to care across inpatient, day-care and community settings, and secured the charity’s first funded service-level agreement with Government. In 2018, she received the IoD Jersey Director of the Year Award for outstanding governance.
Emelita previously spent 20 years as a commercial litigator with Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer in London and with Ogier in Jersey. She has held a range of board and public-service roles, including Chair of Jersey’s Citizens’ Assembly on Climate Change, and has supported initiatives promoting diversity, equality and inclusion.
She now advises organisations on strategy, governance, risk and organisational change. Emelita believes successful organisations combine financial resilience with social responsibility, sound judgment and long-term thinking. She is committed to helping the Coop remain a trusted, sustainable business that members value and are proud to own.
