Exciting Opportunity: People Advisor

We’re seeking an enthusiastic People Advisor to join our team and help us foster a culture of inclusion, engagement, and success. In this role, you’ll be supporting the relevant People Business Manager and People Administrator in enabling the achievement of both operational and People objectives.
The People Advisor will be responsible for providing advice and administration support across the full range of People activities, working collaboratively with Managers and colleagues to promote best practice and to ensure fair and consistent application of policy, procedure, and process across all businesses.
The Successful Candidate Will:
- Engage with Managers to support the delivery of People activities relating to recruitment, selection, onboarding, and induction in adherence with best practice and legal requirements.
- Work alongside the People Administrator and managers to ensure that the recruitment journey is pro-actively managed.
- Assist with the management of employee relations issues (discipline, capability, grievance, and sickness and absence management).
- Provide People advice and guidance in relation to the application of People policies, procedures, and processes and/or statutory requirements to the business.
- Support the implementation of plans to embed the Society's values and promote belonging, equality, and diversity as part of the culture of the Society.
- Carry out any other duties and responsibilities as required.
What We're Looking For:
- An experienced People generalist with experience working at People Advisor level previously.
- Someone who’s passionate about employee relations and has a solid track record of addressing a variety of employee matters and be confident in dealing with Disciplinary, Grievance and Capability, and Attendance Management cases.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective collaborative working relationships with various stakeholders across all areas of the business.
- Practical working knowledge of Employment, Discrimination, Data protection and other relevant laws and legislation, regulatory requirements for both Guernsey and Jersey.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office package and previous experience of HR systems.
- CIPD qualification or equivalent (ideally level 3 or above).
